Commander Summary

Sun Tzu, courtesy name Changqing, was born in the Kingdom of Qi during the late Spring and Autumn period. With Wu Zixu's recommendation, he later earned the favor of the Wu King Helu after presenting his writings in "The Art of War". Utilizing a variety of alternating strategies in the battle of Boju, he directed the Wu army to conitnuously defeat Chu forces, making their way into the Chu capital and forcing the king to flee. Through this battle, Sun Tzu became more than just a writer of military strategy, but a practitioner - renowned teachings were no longer mere words on a page, but entire methodologies of practical governance that allowed the Wu to survive against greater surrounding powers. While the Wu army later retreated due to interference from the Qin and Yue, Sun Tzu employed learnings from his victories to significantly improve his abilities. His writings became a timeless classic, and he himself is revered as a master of military strategy with long-lasting influence.
